COVID-19 Response

Dear Philoptochos Sisters and Brothers in Christ,

We hope you and your family are well, staying healthy and safe during this unprecedented time in our history. The COVID-19 Pandemic has made 2020 a very challenging year for all of us.  Life as we once knew it ceased, and a new normal emerged.

Many of our chapters have met the challenge and assisted various needs of their local communities; providing food and other supplies to food banks and homeless shelters, and rental, utility and medical assistance for many in their church community.  The Metropolis Philotochos’ Masks Matter Campaign continues to provide masks for shelters, parishioners and service groups engaged in humanitarian work.  The Metropolis Philanthropy Committee has also been very busy assisting many in our Orthodox community with rent or mortgage payments, utility, medical, transportation and other daily living expenses.

Unfortunately, this Pandemic is fluid and ongoing.  Please know that we are here to assist you during this time.  If you have questions or concerns please contact us at philoptochos@chicagophilo.org. For resources and other information regarding this Pandemic, please visit the National Philoptochos COVID-19 Emergency Response page and the Greek Orthodox Metropolis of Chicago COVID-19 Response & Resources page.

Please stay safe as you continue to scatter kindness and assistance to those in need.

In Christ,

Metropolis of Chicago Philoptochos
