Our Commitments

There are three Commitments that need to be made to the Metropolis of Chicago’s Philoptochos Society yearly:

Membership Per Capita

This fund is used for administrative expenses of the Metropolis of Chicago Philoptochos.

DUE APRIL 30

Bishop’s Welfare Fund

This fund is allocated by His Eminence to help people in emergency need or for people facing difficult circumstances and approach the Metropolitan directly for assistance.

DUE APRIL 30

Philanthropy Fund

These funds are used to provide assitance to those in need in our Metropolis communities.

DUE MARCH 30

The Membership Per Capita Fund is based on the number of your Philoptochos members. It is calculated at $5.00 per member. The Bishop’s Welfare Fund is calculated at $2.00 per member of your Philoptochos.

Please Note: The National Philoptochos requires us to have a list of all the names, addresses and email addresses of your Chapter’s Philoptochos members. The Metropolis of Chicago Philoptochos also uses the mailing list to send out the invitations for the Annual Luncheon and other special events held by the Metropolis. Please remember to email an up-to-date mailing list to the Assistant Treasurer when sending your membership check.

This information, along  with the mailing address where the checks need to be sent, is stated on the Commitments Form available for download below. When you send in your checks please include the Coupon from the Commitments Form with your payment. The Coupons state necessary information that we need for the Metropolis Philoptochos’ records.

PLEASE DO NOT SEND ANY COMMITMENT CHECKS TO THE METROPOLIS OFFICE IN LOMBARD. This creates administrative delays  in recording the checks and depositing in the appropriate accounts.

For questions, please contact us at philoptochos@chicagophilo.org.
